Axtec, the specialist manufacturer of vehicle weighing solutions, is celebrating 35 years since its formation. Back in 1991, Axtec’s very first axle weighbridge was installed at Saltash-based Appleby Westward, the logistics and distribution company supplying SPAR grocery stores across the south-west. The weighbridge played a vital role in keeping the fleet legal, demonstrating Appleby Westward’s commitment to safety and compliance.
Even back in those days, Axtec provided a turnkey solution, taking care of the whole installation including everything from the construction work to calibration and ongoing maintenance. The partnership has flourished over the years, with a recent upgrade to the latest Axtec indicator, embracing modern technology to enhance accuracy and reliability.
“We’re proud to have worked alongside Axtec for 35 years,” said Del Phillips, Logistics Director at Appleby Westward. “This partnership reflects our shared dedication to innovation, compliance and supporting the Spar network. Here’s to another 35 years of collaboration and success.”
Appleby Westward’s enduring relationship with Axtec highlights the importance of long-term partnerships in the logistics and supply chain sector, combining expertise, technology, and innovation to keep businesses moving forward, safely and efficiently.
